Trumpets! Intrepid Troupers Trump Trumbauer!


Three Leads before show
Congratulations to all of our Lee students who competed in District I of the Walter Trumbauer Theatre Festival at Bob Jones High School on November 6 & 7. The Trumbauer Festival is named after Walter Trumbauer, a former theatre professor at The University of Montevallo who inspired and taught students in the fields of speech and theatre.

Lee’s entry in the one-act play competition was “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare – Abridged (Abridged),” starring Daniel Willis, Toryn Washington, and Paige Roden, pictured here. Their performance won
Best in Show honors for District I! Great work, folks! Toryn and Daniel were also named to the District 1 All Star Cast, and the play will be entered into the State Competition at Troy University on December 4 & 5. Click the photo for more photos of their superior performance.

In addition, each of the performances below is also qualified to compete in the Alabama State Trumbauer Festival after they took home a SUPERIOR rating in solo, duet, or technical categories. Superior performances include:

This heart-warming, toe-tapping stage production of "White Christmas" is based on the classic holiday movie with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney &Vera Ellen, with a few more of Irving Berlin's timeless hits added in. Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander.
