Trumpets! Intrepid Troupers Trump Trumbauer!
Congratulations
to all of our Lee students who competed in District I
of the Walter Trumbauer Theatre Festival at Bob Jones
High School on November 6 & 7. The Trumbauer
Festival is named after Walter Trumbauer, a former
theatre professor at The University of Montevallo who
inspired and taught students in the fields of speech
and theatre.
Lee’s entry in the one-act play competition was “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare – Abridged (Abridged),” starring Daniel Willis, Toryn Washington, and Paige Roden, pictured here. Their performance won Best in Show honors for District I! Great work, folks! Toryn and Daniel were also named to the District 1 All Star Cast, and the play will be entered into the State Competition at Troy University on December 4 & 5. In addition, each of the performances below is also qualified to compete in the Alabama State Trumbauer Festival after they took home a SUPERIOR rating in solo, duet, or technical categories. Superior performances include:

This
heart-warming, toe-tapping stage production of
"White Christmas" is based on the classic
holiday movie with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye,
Rosemary Clooney &Vera Ellen, with a few
more of Irving Berlin's timeless hits added in.
Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a
successful song-and-dance act after World War
II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo
of beautiful singing sisters en route to their
Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just
happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former
army commander.
Thanks so much to all who made this show such a success, including Jacobi Hall as Bob Wallace, Thomas Najjar as Phil Davis, Anna Quirk as Betty Haynes, Julia Erwin as Judy Haynes, Chris Sebastian as General Waverly, Forest Bonner as Martha Watson, Lauren Bakke as Susan Waverly, Toryn Washington as Ralph Sheldrake, Christina Crutcher and Emily Bannister as Rita and Rhoda - the Oxydol girls, Jonathon Long as Ezekial, Will Erwin as Mike, Demetrius Woods as Tessie, Michael Becher as Jimmy, Justin Jordan as the Snoring Man, and Jessica Jones as the Snoring Man's wife. Chorus members include Jazmyn Baker, Andrew Bastow, John Bozeman, Ben Brooks, Patricia Cooney, Brandi Dykes, Tony Dykes, Chelsea Felder, Elyse Freeman, Tristian Fitchard, Galik Horton-Burks, Cadence Jolly, Lynne Kerr, Jaslin Mathews, Sami McDermott, Daryon McCurdy, Jordan Moore, Catherine Najjar, Travion Ragland, Desmond Rice, Devynn Robinson, Jessica Romious, David Savage. Soldiers include LeShawn Lemar, Christopher Smith, Dylan West, DeMarcus McLain, Daniel Johnson, Jacob Johnson, and Galvin Burks. Children in the cast include Duncan Smith, Corinne Smith, John Bakke, and Ryan Rorick.
